Battle Creek Police Offer Updated Crime Reporting Process

The Battle Creek City Police Department is asking residents to consider other methods of reporting crime. The ministry stresses that the public security services continue without interruption. But for non-emergency situations, or when there are no injuries, the department asks residents to report by phone or online. Some examples include items stolen from a vehicle, property damage, hit and run on private property, and internet fraud or scams. The department supports state and federal guidelines on staying home, except when it’s necessary to leave and stay 6 feet from other people when you need to go out.

To report by telephone with the PD Answering Unit, call the non-urgent number, 269-781-0911, or call 911. Tell the dispatcher that you wish to report by telephone. They will transmit your information and a UTR agent will contact you.

To report an incident online, go to and click Report Incident, or and click the Report Online link on the left. You can then enter the information for your police report. Please provide as much detail and information as possible. Once you submit the form, an agent will receive it and contact you within five business days to provide you with a complaint number and ask clarifying questions.

Contact the Battle Creek Police Department with any questions about these methods at 269-966-3322.
