PARKERSBURG – WVU Medicine Camden Clark has received a distinguished three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons for their patient care and the results of isolated coronary artery bypass grafting procedures, the only hospital in the region to receive this recognition.

The rating, which designates the highest quality category, places Camden Clark’s cardiovascular surgery team among the elite in heart bypass surgery in the United States and Canada.

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ Star Rating System is one of the most sophisticated and popular comprehensive measures of health care quality, evaluating the comparative outcome of cardiothoracic surgery programs in the United States and Canada. .

Historically, 6% to 10% of participants receive a three-star rating for isolated coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
