Employee Cycle, the leading HR analytics dashboard for small and midsize businesses, has closed a $2.5 million funding round, led by Impellent Ventures. The round included participation from Collab Capital, Converge VC, as well as other angel investors and contributors.

Use of the proceeds will support the development and launch of the first Employee Data Platform (EDP), an enhanced product to automate HR reporting and data quality auditing. Employee Cycle plans to scale and hire across sales, marketing, and engineering departments.

“We always hear that employees are a company’s greatest asset, but since most organizations have employee data spread across multiple HR systems, they end up knowing very little about the people who work for them. . To solve this problem, we are empowering companies to transform their disconnected employee data into centralized workforce insights to make smarter, more data-driven decisions,” said Bruce Marable, CEO of Employee Cycle. “The support from customers, integration partners and a diverse coalition of investors and industry leaders is a validation of our model and an opportunity to help organizations better anticipate employee needs.”

The company’s dashboard integrates with nearly three dozen commonly used HR software systems, primarily in the “HR technology” categories, including HRIS, payroll, recruiting, and performance management systems . This allows HR managers to unify and analyze their data across all areas of the workforce such as headcount, recruiting, rotation, retention, DEI, compensation, performance management and others. All of these integrations are intuitive and automatically update data to provide the most information in real time.

“HR leaders are managing a deluge of data in an unconnected way, and that’s not sustainable,” said David Brown, managing partner of Impellent Ventures. “Employee Cycle offers more than operational efficiency; it’s a cost-effective business intelligence tool that provides real insight into business operations and culture, which is more important than ever.

Among the champions behind Employee Cycle and its mission is Impellent Venture general partner Tarik Trotter (known by his stage name as Black Thought). Her commitment stems from her belief in supporting founders of underrepresented communities who are redefining the status quo and creating opportunity for others. This year, only 1.2% of all venture capital dollars funded black-founded startups.

“To me, employers can do a lot more to recruit, hire and support diverse candidates during the onboarding process,” Trotter said. “Bruce and his team are proof that talent and good ideas will flourish, regardless of the statistics. My goal is to ensure that he and the other founders of Black and Brown have the financial opportunities to build sustainable businesses.

About the employee cycle

Employee Cycle is an employee data platform (EDP) that changes the way HR managers use data, starting with transforming disconnected employee data into a user-friendly, centralized, real-time HR analytics dashboard . By leveraging APIs from a wide variety of industry-leading HR systems, we provide a single, data-driven view of the entire workforce. This allows HR managers to better identify, communicate and resolve workforce issues (eg. turnover costs, lack of diversity, gender pay inequality, poor employer brand, etc.) , avoid risks and reduce costs. Employee Cycle is a graduate of Comcast NBCUniversal’s Lift Lab Accelerator powered by Techstars.
